There are approximately 13,000 congregations of the Churches of Christ in the United States and thousands more worldwide. The head of the Church is none other than Jesus Christ himself (Ephesians 1:22-23).  Each congregation of the Church of Christ is autonomous, and it is the Word of God that unites us into One Faith (Ephesians 4:3-6). We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and his Apostles. Our mission is to reach the lost for Christ, teaching them the fundamental principle of the salvation experience, then teaching them to observe all that Jesus commanded, believing that in doing so, we will have His presence always.

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen" -- Matthew 28:19-20
